Churches Weigh in On Halloween Sunday Observances

Should the date of Haloween observances be changed so it does not clash with Sunday?
That is the topic of discussion in Lynchburg,VA as reported by ABC 13.

“Most church-goers say they don't have a problem with Halloween being on Sunday. And, some church leaders say the issue isn't when Halloween is celebrated, but how it's celebrated.”

According to ABC 13, several Cities and counties have changed the date officially odserved because it fell on Sunday.

It has been my personal experience that most christians do not mind Haloween and the only concern is with how some people may chose to celebrate it.

One blogger who says he is in the Bible belt reports three seperate celebrations. “Nowadays my kids get at least three shots at trick-or-treating -- Fall Festival at church on Wednesday night, "trunk or treat" at my wife's work on Friday night, and neighborhood trick-or-treating on Saturday. It's fun to remind them that when I was a kid, I only had one shot at it in our small town neighborhood.”

That was the headlines in the headlines last year on Haloween Mail Online apparantly The Vatican's view of Haloween is that it is anti Christian and dangerous.

“The condemnation follows criticism from Catholic bishops who this week urged parents not to let their children dress up as ghosts and goblins.”

Whatever your belief may be, lets wish everyone well for Haloween and lets hope that lots of children have fun this evening.

What's the deal with Ghosts?

It seems like everyone has become infatuated with ghosts and the paranormal, everywhere you go people are talking about ghosts and apparitions, paranormal activity and hauntings.

All this seems to be be expected, It is Halloween right?
